This website published the story of a picture taken with Jimi Hendrix. The story was part of the section called KR Pictures.

The story said that in 1995, he had taken his friend Brian to the Greenwood Memorial in order to show him Jimi Hendrix’s mom’s grave. Jimi’s step mother was there with his girlfriend, taking care of his grave. He had met June, Jimi’s step mom before, but this time he got to meet Monika, Jimi’s girlfriend too. He was impressed by her being so genuine and nice.

In October 1995, Herb Johnson Jr., a friend of Randall’s, took him to Mr. Hendrix’s house to meet him. Mr. Hendrix appeared to Randall as a very nice and down to earth person. At his friend’s suggestion, Randall went back to the car and brought his new Marshall pedal prototypes and played for Mr. Hendrix. After Randall finished playing a picture of them was taken, with them standing in front of the gold records. Unfortunately there was no cam recording of the moment. Later on, Herb and Randall would visit Mr. Hendrix every once in a while, spending a couple of hours at his house every time they would go to Seattle to check out the music stores. One day Mr. Hendrix gave each of his guests a copy of his book called “My Son Jimi”. He also signed the books. Randall still owns this book and cherishes it as his favorite Jimi Hendrix book.

He also became acquainted to other members of Jimi Hendrix’s family, to his road manager and also to Mary Willix who had written the book called “Visions from Home”, also about Jimi Hendrix. Mary Willix had been to the same school as Jimi.

At Mr. Hendrix’s 80th birthday party, Randall also got to meet Gerry Stickell, the 2006 Parneli lifetime achievement winner. Randal was thrilled to meet this Sickell, whom he appreciated for his manager services to rock icons such as Jimi Hendrix himself.

Randall’s friend Brian took another picture of him and Mr. Hendrix on April 2000 on another one of their visit to the Hendrix house. Instead of saying cheese, the two men in the picture actually said “purple haze”.

In the article, Randall explained how attached he had been of Mr. Hendrix and what an honor it had been for him to meet him as well as the other members of Jimi Hendrix’s family.

The last picture he talked about in this article was the one taken by another one of his friends, also named Brian, showing Randall at Jimi Hendrix’s grave in February 2004.
